Taliban threatening Afghan Christians with execution
The Taliban will once again use executions and amputations of hands in its rule over Afghanistan despite suggesting it would be a more lenient regime.
Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Taliban founder, told The Associated Press, “We will follow Islam and we will make our laws on the Quran.”
Under the Taliban’s rule, Afghan Christians who have converted from Islam are considered apostate and could be executed.
A report by Amnesty International warned, “The human rights gains that the Afghan people have built over two decades are at risk of collapse.”
